     Cats are obligate carnivores, which means that they rely on nutrients found only in animal products. Cats are hunters that consume prey that contains high amounts of protein, moderate amounts of fat, and a minimal amount of carbohydrates. Cats also require more than a dozen other nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and amino acids. (Feeding your cat 2023)

     With that being said, kibble just won't do. 

     Over the years there have been many dry/wet food recalls and even deaths associated with those recalls. According to the FDA, over 65 dry/wet pet foods have been recalled since 2018. Recalls are actions taken to remove a product from the market. Recalls may be conducted on a firm's own initiative, by FDA request, or by FDA order under statutory authority. The recalls over the last five years have been due to salmonella, particle matter, listeria, copper… the list goes on.
